Local Businesses We Frequent

Interior of a modern industrial-style bar with a large curved wooden bar counter, high stools, and exposed pipes and ductwork on the ceiling. There are some patrons sitting at the bar, and other tables with people in the background. The lighting is warm and ambient.

7 Seas Taproom

Located in the heart of downtown Tacoma, 7 Seas is one of our favorite locations. It's spacious taproom lets people sit together at their long tables, individually on their couches, or take a break with some pinball and shuffleboard when you need to break the writers block
Exterior of Park Way Tavern with outdoor seating area, blue and white chairs, hanging neon signs, and a large signboard showing the establishment's name.
People sitting at outdoor tables and walking past a coffee shop on a sunny day. The coffee shop has large windows, green framing, and potted plants outside.

Parkway Tavern

Curran Coffee

Located in the heart of old-town Tacoma, Curran has graciously opened its doors to us to use the space they share with The Spar to write. Locally owned and operated by the Curran Sisters and their wonderful staff.
A favorite local beer hall, we love to gather in their back 'Red Room' for its cozy vibe, plenty of seating, and the best beer list in Tacoma. Several of us have been writing there for years now and know how amazing of a space it is.
